18 January 2024 at 20:43 New attempt for Swedish-Norwegian astronaut At 22:49 on Thursday evening, a new attempt is made to launch a Falcon 9 rocket from the Kennedy Space Center in Florida in the USA. Swedish-Norwegian Marcus Wandt is on board. The original plan was for the launch of the Falcon 9 rocket with Wandt and three others on board to take place at 11pm on Wednesday evening, but this was postponed with just a few hours’ notice. It is not entirely unusual in the aerospace context. Wandt and the others will board the spacecraft Dragon to travel to the International Space Station (ISS). They will be there for two weeks to carry out various scientific experiments on behalf of the company Axiom Space. Nine minutes after the planned launch, the astronauts will reach orbit. Then it takes about 36 hours to get to the space station. Wandt grew up outside Karlstad in Sweden, but his mother lives in Gjøvik. He says he is proud to represent both Sweden and Norway in the room. (© NTB)
