Kyiv’s mayor Vitaly Klitschko writes on Telegram that the explosions hit the Shevchenko district in the center of the city. The explosions occur exactly one week after Russia carried out several airstrikes in exactly the same district of Kyiv. According to Andriy Yermak, at President Zelenskyi’s office, so-called kamikaze drones, or attack drones, were behind the attacks. This has not yet been verified. AFP’s journalist in Kyiv reports that air sirens sounded just before the explosions, which took place around 6:35 and 6:45 local time. According to Klitschko, several residential buildings were damaged. Emergency services must be at the places where the explosions hit.
