She is a state administrator in Vestland, and was involved in granting the license that allowed football star David Beckham to fish in Lærdalselva, even though salmon fishing is actually prohibited there. The permit was granted after a round of appeals. The turnaround operation is controversial as Navarsete is married to one of the river owners. In a letter, the state administrator writes that the decision is invalid due to her incapacity. Law firm BAHR now has a week to respond to the decision. – We have also postponed implementation of the decision, which means that all possible fishing in the river must stop immediately, says Marit Bendixen in the State Administrator in Rogaland to news.
