My name is Mikhail Mikusjin (45) and is from Russia – news Troms and Finnmark

The man, who worked as a visiting researcher at the University of Tromsø, was arrested by the PST in October last year. He then introduced himself as José Assis Giamarria from Brazil. Now he admits that he is actually Mikhail Valeryevich Mikushin (45) from Russia. Before a prison hearing in Oslo district court on 6 December this year, the Russian was registered with his real name for the first time. – He recognizes his name. But we had relatively good evidence for that anyway, says police attorney Per Niklas Hafsmoe in PST to VG. Arrested in Tromsø The man in his 30s has himself stated that he is a Brazilian citizen, who came to Norway to work unpaid for UiT Norway’s Arctic University. He had no family here, and lived in a rented house in Tromsø. The man was arrested on his way to work. PST believes the man is a so-called “illegal”. That is, a person who has built up an identity as an ordinary citizen, while quietly working for foreign intelligence.
