29 June 2023 at 17:43 Mother and child rescued after falling overboard from Swedish ferry in the Baltic Sea A mother and her child have been rescued after falling overboard from a Swedish ferry on their way across the Baltic Sea to Poland. The Stena Spirit ferry runs between Karlskrona and Gdynia in Poland. The two ended up in the water around 4.15pm on Thursday. According to Anders Lännholm at the Sjö-och flygräddningscentralen, the seven-year-old first fell overboard, and the mother jumped after. A major rescue effort was launched, including two rescue helicopters. Several Nato vessels in the area also helped, writes TT.
