Mother accused of planning to kill child’s father on release from custody

The police confirm that. Last summer, the parents in Sunnmøre were arrested after their baby died. They were later released from custody. In June this year, the mother was remanded in custody, this time together with another man. The police believe the two must have planned to kill the father of the dead child. Now they will be released from custody. – The case is still under investigation, but as we assess the case now, there are no longer grounds to keep the accused in custody, says police attorney Julie Ulstein in the Møre og Romsdal police district to news. – It is no longer the case that there is a risk that evidence may be lost, which makes remand necessary. Suspect after baby death It was in August last year that a couple of parents from Sunnmøre were arrested, because the police suspected that they had something to do with their child’s death. Both were subsequently charged with murder, or complicity in murder. Both mother and father were later released from custody, while the police continue to investigate the case. On 24 June, the mother in this case was charged together with another man for having planned to kill the father of the dead child. This must have happened a week after the police carried out a reconstruction with the parties involved. Still charged with planning murder On Thursday, the two were set free. The case is under investigation and the two are still wanted for planning murder. – The investigation into the case will continue and there will be a particular focus on the review of seizures, says Ulstein. She adds that it is too early to say anything about how this charge affects the further investigation into the baby’s death.
