On Thursday, news was able to say that an industry stop has been charged with sexually offensive behavior during Arendal Week a couple of weeks ago. The man has a top position in a Norwegian business organization and is said to have placed a hidden camera in the bathroom of the apartment he shared with a politician, two colleagues and a journalist. The police are now working to get an overview of whether there may be more incidents also going back in time. – The police have made several seizures, but I do not want to elaborate on what these are. The accused has not been formally questioned and has therefore not taken a decision on criminal guilt either. When questioning will be carried out, we have to come back to, says prosecutor Terje Kaddeberg Skaar in the Agder police district. – In addition to questioning the accused and the victim, it will be natural to carry out technical investigations, and this work is ongoing. The police are at the very beginning of the investigation, and for investigative reasons I cannot give further information at the present time, he says to news. The loudspeaker was placed in the bathroom, and the victims believe they were filmed during their stay in Arendal. In addition to the accused man, two colleagues, one journalist and one politician lived in the same apartment in Arendal. During Arendal Week, it is common for organisations, companies and newsrooms to rent private homes because all the hotels are, so to speak, fully booked every year. – I can confirm that the police are investigating a case in which a person has been charged with a breach of section 298 of the Criminal Code. For reasons of privacy and confidentiality, I cannot say anything about the accused, says Skaar in the Agder police district. – Shameful A journalist was therefore among those who lived in the house where the secret filming is supposed to have taken place. Today, Dagens Næringsliv confirmed that the journalist, who is offended in the case, works for the newspaper. The accused man’s lawyer, Alexander Nyheim Jenssen, confirmed to news yesterday that the business elite is prepared to cooperate with the police, lay all cards on the table and acknowledge the facts. – First of all, my client is very sorry and ashamed of the case and wants to contribute to a quick, orderly and fair clarification in the legal system for the sake of those affected, said the lawyer. – He feels great compassion for those affected, and of course wants the case undone. My client is on sick leave and is currently undergoing treatment, he continues. LAWYER: Alexander Nyheim Jenssen. Photo: Cecilie Valentine Brekke / news Published 30.08.2024, at 16.11
