Molde goalkeeper Oliver Petersen goes to Lillestrøm on loan – news Møre og Romsdal – Local news, TV and radio

In August, news came that Molde goalkeeper Oliver Petersen had moved to Oslo, much to the surprise of many. On Monday evening, it was announced that he is going to Lillestrøm on loan for the rest of the season. – It’s actually quite a long story, and it’s complex. There are several reasons for that, says Oliver Petersen to news. The goalkeeper has a contract with Molde until the 2026 season, and last played in the Serie Liga match against Club Brugge in March, where Molde reached the round of 16. Among other things, he stood during the cup final in 2023, when Molde won 1-0 over Bodø/Glimt. But for the past three weeks he has studied law in Oslo, and says that is the reason why he moved home and from Molde. – It has been on my mind for a while, but it became easier to choose when we got to the start of the Elite series this year, and I was put on the bench. He himself says he both believed and believed that he should be the first goalkeeper. It became very clear afterwards that Molde did not want to bet on me. Jacob (ed. note Karlstrøm) started the first series round, and then it was Albert (ed. note Posiadała) after that. The 22-year-old says he has had a good time in Molde city, and is grateful for what he has been able to experience. – And I felt a lot of support from the fans and spectators at Aker Stadion. It was not an easy choice, but the way things turned out, I felt that it was the best for me here and now. Photo: Carina Johansen / NTB Don’t know what the future holds Do you feel that you were valued enough in Molde by the club? – That’s football. It’s not me who takes out the team. The coach chooses, and that must be respected. I had played myself, I had, he says with a chuckle. You have a contract with Molde until 2026, what happens after this season? Can the Molde supporters expect to see you represent Molde next season? – It has come out publicly that I have started studying in Oslo, so, but… I’m only dealing with the six months here, so we’ll see what happens. We have not decided on that yet. – I feel privileged to have experienced a lot and learned a lot in Molde. Incredibly nice group of players, city and supporters. I am grateful for six good years, then we will see what the future brings. Petersen says that in Lillestrøm he is thought of as a back-up goalkeeper, and that they will arrange for him to combine both studies and football. – I am very grateful that I get the opportunity to stay active and train with Lillestrøm, he says. news has not yet succeeded in getting in touch with Øystein Neerland, director of Molde Football Club.
