Her car is thrown and collides head-on with a truck. Emilia dies aged 19. Mamma Hilde Gudbrandsrud loses her beloved daughter, and the mother’s role was suddenly changed. – You get an identity crisis. Photo: Privat On Sunday evening, Hilde Gudbrandsrud shared her story at the memorial for traffic victims. It was an atmospheric and worthy experience with speeches and strong stories indoors for the many who had turned up. Outside, they gathered in torchlight processions where the frosty smoke stood in stark contrast through the torches of the illuminated buildings. On a national basis, 118 people died in traffic in 2023, compared to 116 people in 2022. – What is your most important message to those who take part in the commemoration? – That they are not alone. That there is someone out there that you can talk to. That there are more people in the same situation. Emilia’s mum hopes that her participation can help make a difference for someone.
