Medical student helped injured minor after violent incident in Tønsberg – news Vestfold and Telemark – Local news, TV and radio

Three teenagers are now charged with attempted murder and complicity after the dramatic incident in the center of Tønsberg on Thursday afternoon. Two 17-year-olds have been remanded in custody for two weeks with a letter and visiting ban. The court is still considering what will happen to the last of the three accused. Worked together to stop the bleeding Dental assistant Miriam Gustavsson and dentist Hans Erling Skallevold were at work in the clinic in Fayes street when they heard noise from the street outside. When Gustavsson went out to look, she discovered three boys standing in the street. One of them was bleeding from the leg. She wasn’t sure if it was nonsense, but when she saw that they started compressing the wound, she understood the seriousness. Together with dentist Hans Erling Skallevold, who is also a medical student, they ran out. Some other colleagues arrived with first aid equipment. – We helped them in, and worked together to stop the bleeding until the police and ambulance arrived at the scene, says Skallevold, who does not hide that the incident was experienced as dramatic. In the right place According to Skallevold, the boys had already done a good job on their own, and acted quickly. – They took care of most of the bleeding. It was more about making sure it went well, he says. Although the incident was unclear, they acted on instinct and realized that it was one of the victims who needed urgent help. The other person had an injury to his finger. – We were definitely in the right place at the right time. We had the right equipment and were able to act straight away, says Skallevold. The following day, the colleagues praise each other’s efforts. – It was a shocking incident, so there was probably a bit of shock for the victims as well. Miriam was very good at calming them down, which was also very important, says Skallevold. The police appreciate what was done at the scene. – The effort was top notch and absolutely right, writes section leader Knut Erik Ågrav in the police to news in an e-mail. Charged with attempted murder Three people in their late teens have been charged with attempted murder and complicity following the violent incident. Those who were injured are both minors under the age of 15, and both were sent to hospital. – They were not injured in a life-threatening way, stated section leader Ågrav on Friday morning. Neither person has explained themselves so far. According to the police, it may appear that there has been a contact or a disagreement in connection with the incident. Want tips Gustavsson and Skallevold have themselves been questioned by the police. Section leader Ågrav has previously told news that they want tips from any witnesses who may have seen something in the area around where the incident took place. – We want them to call 02800, so that we can cover as much of that area as possible.
