Many of the protesters express anti-immigration or far-right attitudes. In Rotherham in South Yorkshire, a group of masked rioters broke into a hotel that housed asylum seekers, writes Sky News. They also allegedly tried to set fire to the hotel. In total, approximately 700 people had surrounded the hotel, according to the BBC. At least ten police officers are said to have been injured. No injuries have been reported among hotel employees or guests. So far, one person has been arrested in Rotherham. During the weekend, the police arrested 147 people in connection with the riots in the country, according to the BBC.
