25 February 2023 at 16:34 Kristoff with career best in classic opening Alexander Kristoff had earlier in his career never been better than number 11 in Omloop Het Nieuwsblad, the race which is the start of the cyclists’ classic season. The Norwegian couldn’t do anything to Dylan van Baarle (pictured), who won the race solo, but both he and teammate Rasmus Fossum Tiller were in the first big group behind. Tiller was among those working to drive in a group of four riders between them and Van Baarle and into the last 200 meters they also came up on the side of the quartet. Of the riders there, Arnaud De Lie and Cristophe Laporte still managed to sprint to second and third place, while Kristoff crossed the finish line in fourth place. The Uno-X rider will race the Belgian semi-classic Kuurne-Brussel-Kuurne on Sunday.
