27 August 2024 at 22:54 Solbakken and Sparta Praha ready for the Champions League There could be a Champions League game at Markus Solbakken this autumn after Sparta Praha beat Malmö in the qualifiers 4-0 on aggregate. The Norwegian was an unused reserve in Tuesday’s match. Solbakken was sold from Viking to Sparta in January, and he played a lot in the spring season which culminated in league gold in the Czech Republic. Sparta had a 2-0 lead to go on from the away meeting last week, and they could have gone a long way to puncturing the game when they were awarded a penalty kick after 18 minutes on Tuesday. However, Veljko Birmancevic missed from the penalty spot. Eight minutes later, Anders Christiansen did the same for Malmö, and thus it was still goalless. For Malmö, both Lasse Berg Johnsen and Colin Rösler started Tuesday’s match, while Erik Botheim was replaced after 58 minutes in search of a goal. Oliver Berg remained on the bench for the reigning Allsvenskan champion. It was a difficult match for Malmö in the Czech Republic. Sparta received a penalty again after 79 minutes, and this time Lukas Haraslin scored for sure. There was thus no doubt as to who would progress to Football Europe’s most prestigious tournament. Albion Rrahmani extended their lead three minutes later to seal a 4-0 aggregate win.
