16 September 2023 at 17:25 Kuss retained his grip on the Vuelta – Poels won the stage American Sepp Kuss defended his lead in the Vuelta a España cycling race on Saturday. All indications are that he will win overall. The riders cycled 208 kilometers with a number of category 3 climbs. It was won by the Dutchman Wout Poels (Bahrain Victorious). The overall leaders reached the finish safely about ten minutes after the breakaway field and held their positions before tomorrow’s final stage. Jumbo-Visma’s Kuss is thus very close to the biggest triumph of his career. The race ends in Madrid with a flat stage of just over ten miles. (© NTB)
