Man shot by the police in Stavanger – news Norway – Overview of news from different parts of the country

The man’s injuries are not life-threatening, police lawyer Anne Mette Dale at the Sørvest police district told news. She said that at 9pm the police were called to the department store in Hillevåg, in connection with the fact that a man had caused damage outside a shop. When the police arrived, “a threatening situation arose”, and shots were fired from the police. Dale states that the intimidator is accused of threatening the police with a knife, but she does not want to give more details about how this happened. She also does not want to say how many shots were fired, or where on the man’s body the man was hit. He has been taken to hospital, and has the status of a suspect. The prosecution is under Section 155 of the Penal Code, for threats against the police. The special unit for police cases is routinely notified, and will investigate the matter, says Dale.
