28 June 2023 at 14:48 Budstikka: Man sentenced to 11.5 years in prison for murder in Asker A 44-year-old Lithuanian man has been sentenced to 11 and a half years in prison for murder and drug possession. This is reported by Budstikka. On the morning of 24 September 2021, the emergency services were notified that two men had been in a fight outside in the center of Åros, which ended with one of them being stabbed to death with a bread knife. The perpetrator fled the scene on foot, but was arrested in Oslo the following day. The Lithuanian in his mid-40s has admitted the actual circumstances, but claimed he acted in self-defence. In the judgment, it is assumed that the 44-year-old was attacked by the deceased, but that he went too far in his defense. The deceased was a man in his 30s from Lithuania. In addition to the prison sentence, the man has been ordered to pay NOK 250,000 to each of the deceased’s parents and two children. He must also pay NOK 64,500 in compensation for funeral expenses.
