2 July 2023 at 13:55 Man dies in drowning accident on Eigerøy A man has died after being picked up from the sea on Eigerøy outside Egersund in Rogaland. The fire service responded to a possible drowning accident on Nordre Eigerøy, they announced on Twitter. The man died in the rescue helicopter on the way to Haukeland University Hospital. CPR was started. Relatives have been notified, and are being looked after by the municipality’s crisis team, the police write on Twitter. – A drifting boat has been found, but no person has been found in or near the boat, said operations manager Victor Fenne-Jensen in the Sør-West police district to news this afternoon. Rough seas were reported in the area. The boat is about 16 feet and was found with a rope in the propeller.
