The emergency services have started a rescue operation in the waterway between Oppheimsvannet and Gudvangen. An inflatable raft was observed empty in the waterway, and there must have been two people in it a short time earlier. At 1:40 p.m., the head of operations in the police, Tom Øyvind Johannesen, states that one person has been found safe, but that the other person has still not been accounted for. At 13:52, BT reports that the other person has also been found safe. E16 between Oslo and Bergen is closed due to the rescue mission, and there are long queues.
