When the Silver Boys sang Christmas into the thousands of homes, within a few weeks millions had flowed in to those who have had a hard time this autumn – and who faced a demanding holiday season. Mads Hansen has once again reached out to his 511,000 followers on Instagram with a plea: Help others have a nice Christmas. Rett Fram Opplevelser can now report another startlingly high commitment: NOK 6.3 million. – Unreal big This is the second year TV profile and former football pro Mads Hansen has fronted the campaign with his own Christmas calendar on Instagram. He calls it a “fist magnet calendar”, where he encourages people to donate money according to how provocative they think the people in the various slots are. Last year, more than NOK 6.7 million was received. People will still give. – This year we are all having a tougher time financially, so experiencing this joy of giving is unbelievably great, says organization leader Ronny Johnsen in Rett Fram Oppelvelser. Hansen posted the following message on Instagram on Christmas Eve: “An extra Christmas greeting to all of you 12,452 who have contributed to making Christmas much better for many. Thanks to you, many children, mums and dads are going to bed tonight with a big and proud smile on their faces.” Ronny Johnsen in Rett Fram Experiences has for several years worked to make Christmas better for those who need it most. It’s not always so easy to be an adult, so it’s good to have a hand to hold. It’s scary, maybe even a little unnerving, to ask for help. But with you, it’s not like going to an audition with all the odds against you.” “Thank you very much for making our Christmas easier, and many worries less.” “A burden has been lifted from my shoulders, now I can buy a present for my son. It means so much, and the mother’s heart becomes more whole.” Christmas gifts and lunch boxes Rett Fram Experiences is celebrating its tenth anniversary and says that they have never before noticed such a great turnout and joy of giving. – We have had 61 drivers who delivered 4,355 Christmas presents. We sent out 320 food boxes worth NOK 1,600 each and helped a total of 1,791 families, says Ronny Johnsen. During December, the organization held 22 Christmas celebrations in 22 days, with a total of over 260 guests. 220 volunteers were on hand. 13 companies in Drammen have contributed to the work. – The work that has been done, and what we have achieved, is historic. We show a community that is completely unique in the world, and the fact that so many well-known personalities contribute makes it easier for people to ask for help, says Johnsen.
