15 February 2023 at 10:23 Bild: Lufthansa’s IT system down Lufthansa’s computer system has failed all over the world, reports Bild. The company itself confirms this on Twitter: “At the moment, the airlines in the Lufthansa group are affected by an IT failure. This causes flight delays and cancellations. We apologize for the inconvenience this causes our passengers,” writes Lufthansa. The problems lead to an unknown number of flights being canceled or delayed. According to Bild, it is the check-in and boarding systems that are affected. Machines can take off, but without luggage, as it cannot be checked in, writes Business Insider. Photos and videos from several German airports show chaos in the departure halls. Lufthansa’s subsidiaries; Germanwings, Eurowings, Lufthansa Regional and Lufthansa City Line are all affected by the failure. A spokesperson for Lufthansa tells the Berliner Zeitung that they are working hard to solve the problems: Lufthansa has an extensive route network that includes all six continents of the world. The company is betting heavily on domestic routes in Germany and from its German bases out into Europe. Lufthansa has four departures and four arrivals at Oslo Airport today.
