– I hadn’t gotten up. I slept in the house behind the garage. Then I heard a crash, says Geir Inge Johnsen in Kvinesdal. He wondered what kind of sound this was and looked out the door: – Then I saw a lorry that had driven into the garage. It was just after 09:00 on Monday that the accident happened on Øye in Kvinesdal. Johnsen put on his clothes. He ran out and was a little worried about the bang. That was the most important thing for me, says the woman. After making sure the driver was okay, help was called. Johnsen says that he and his daughter live in the house. He is glad that no one was injured in the collision. The tow truck in place to pull the truck out. A garage was completely destroyed in the collision. Confiscated driver’s license The driver of the lorry has had his license revoked, says operations manager Eyvind Formo in the Agder police district. – Fortunately, no one was injured. Unbelievably enough, says the operations manager. He says that a case has been opened against the driver for breach of section 3 of the Road Traffic Act on negligent driving. The tracks show that the lorry drove about 100 meters on a field before it hit the garage. Material damage A double garage standing in front of the house stopped the lorry. There were no cars in the garage. Some shared cars on the outside were smashed. – There is only material damage. How the driver fared is what matters. Material damage means nothing, emphasizes resident Johnsen. He says it is now up to the insurance company to take care of the damage. The house itself has not suffered any visible damage. – The garage was restored three years ago. Now there will be a new garage again. This afternoon, a tow truck arrived and pulled the lorry out of the garage. – There has been a strong clash. It was good that the garage was in front of the house.
