The emergency services were notified of the accident at 07.25. The driver of the lorry was rescued from the lorry and taken to hospital by ambulance. The extent of the damage is currently unknown, but the condition should be stable, according to the police operations centre. Fall of four meters The truck overturned down a cliff of about four meters and landed on the roof. The car was a so-called compactor car, of the type that collects waste from people’s homes. The incident took place at the Sirkula Heggvin recycling and waste facility at Vang on Hedmarken. The accident occurred in connection with the unloading of a container inside the area. Powered by biogas The truck is one of Sirkula IKS’s vehicles, says Grethe Olsbye, managing director of Sirkula IKS. The lorry involved is powered by biogas. The fire brigade worked for a while to get control of the gas tanks and the leak. The work was finished at 8.30 am. Sirkula IKS then took over responsibility for the area and for rescuing the car. Open after closure Heggvin waste facility is now open, Olsbye informs. Work will be underway to remove the car located in the area. The waste facility was initially closed until further notice.
