The police are calling for tips and witness observations after a fire broke out in a block of flats in the center of Skien. That’s what TA writes. Operations manager Roger Aaser at the Sør-East police district tells the newspaper that on Saturday afternoon work was done to secure residual values and cordon off with fences, at the same time as investigators carry out tactical investigations and question witnesses. No one has been reported to have been injured in the fire. On Saturday morning, the fire brigade continued to extinguish the fire. – Right now the fire service is continuing to put out the fire. They will most likely do that for a large part of the day, said operations manager Jan Tore Gregersen at the police at 08.45 on Saturday. According to Gregersen, the building has suffered extensive damage to the roof and wall structures. – All apartments are uninhabitable. He does not know why the fire started in the block of flats and says the police will investigate the fire. It is known that fireworks were set off in the city center ahead of the fire, but the police will not comment to TA newspaper if this has any connection with the fire.
