A woman has been found dead after a search operation in Tjøme. The operation was launched after a woman was reported missing in the area. The next of kin have been notified of the discovery, informs the Sør-East police district. Alerted by her boyfriend It was the woman’s boyfriend who alerted the police that the woman was missing in connection with swimming. The emergency services were notified around 11 o’clock, says Svenn Arne Heian, head of the Sør-East police district. Great resources were put into the search. In addition to the police, fire crews and the Rescue Service took part in the action. At 1 p.m., a dead person was found in the water. – She was found in the wharf area around which we have concentrated the search. Heian says the police are working to investigate the course of events. The woman will be sent for an autopsy and crime technicians will carry out investigations on the spot, says Røed. No one has the status of suspect or accused in the case.
