The judgment states, among other things, that the cat undoubtedly suffered significantly in the run-up to its death. The cat probably died as a result of a possible hypoxic condition and heart failure triggered by the situation. Hypoxia means that the cat did not receive enough oxygen. Forgot the cat The man agrees that he has been grossly negligent, even if it was not the intention. – He has had the cat for two years and explained that he has treated it well throughout. But occasionally he played with the cat by locking it in a cupboard or the washing machine, says Morch. – Here he was contacted after he had closed it inside, and he forgot the cat. In court, the man also explained that he was under the influence of alcohol when it happened. Søndre Østfold district court set the sentence to prison for 18 days. It was accepted on the spot. – He had hoped for community punishment, but is so ashamed that he accepts the prison sentence, concludes Morch.
