LO sues the Students’ Association on behalf of the students – news Norway – Overview of news from different parts of the country

– We have now decided to take legal action against SiO by notifying a collective action. The case is about interest income from deposit accounts that belong to the students, but which SiO has chosen to keep, says student adviser in LO, Lars Måseide. The reason for the notice is that SiO has chosen to withhold up to NOK 32 million in deposit kroner belonging to the Oslo students. – We believe that SiO, as Oslo’s largest rental operator and an important service provider for students, must follow the applicable laws and regulations. There is no good reason why they do not pay out what they owe the students, says Måseide. According to figures from Khrono, it is estimated that the joint ventures owe the students over NOK 160 million in total.
