Lilia Yatsenko traveled home to Kyiv in Ukraine – she is terrified – news Møre og Romsdal – Local news, TV and radio

– It has been a long time since I woke up to explosions. I’m really scared, says Lilia Yatsenko. In April, she moved to Norway to live with her friend Anna Gangstad, whom she met on Instagram. She has not been to Ukraine since. But then she had to renew her passport. Lilia therefore traveled back to Ukraine at the end of September. Although she was nervous, she thought it was safe because it has been quiet in the capital for a while. The authorities in Kyiv claim that Russia launched 75 missiles on Monday morning, writes the AFP news agency. Around 12 o’clock today, Putin confirmed that Russia is behind it. Several are injured and killed. Lilia Yatensko suddenly fell silent during the phone call. Suddenly she says: “Oh, I’m sorry … It’s bombing again” Photo: Privat Everyone was shocked – I’m afraid for my life and the lives of others. Several people have already died today, says a clearly affected Lilia. She says that the bombing in Kyiv happened a few kilometers away from where she lives. Earlier today they had to hide. – Suddenly we heard explosions quite close to us, so we hid in a parking garage. We felt the house shake. It was probably a few kilometers away from us. Rostyslav Smirnov of the Ukrainian Ministry of the Interior writes on Telegram that at least eight have been killed and 24 injured in Kyiv. Photo: Private Lilia says that family and friends in the capital have gotten used to the war, so they are not as scared as she is. – But today’s bombing surprised everyone. Because it has been quiet here for a long time, several months. So everyone was very shocked. – “Oh, I’m sorry … It’s bombing again” During the conversation, it suddenly becomes completely quiet. Lilia stops talking. Then she says: Play sound Because we are kind of like closeandso we just saw like a few…like…oh…sorry*mumbling*sorryits just like..something.. something like exploded againsomething just explode.. ..exploded again.*muttering*I just heard something*muttering*sorry, it’s like….. bombing again, kind ofokay… so…I’m just gonna…go away from the window. She says that they try to stay away from the windows, and hide elsewhere in the house. They can see downtown Kyiv from the windows, and Lilia is on duty all the time. – You always think: “Should I go and hide in a cellar? Or should I just stay, because this is the last explosion?” I always think that I have to be sure. You never know when the explosions will come. She is worried about her friend, who has become like a sister to her. – I was shaken when I received a message from her earlier today. It is scary. Lilia updates Anna as much as possible while she is in Ukraine. Today she sent a message that there were explosions in Kyiv. – I was at work today, but I went back and forth and spoke to her. It’s not always that I get in touch with her, then I’ve got a little anxious. It is very uncomfortable. Lilia Yatsenko and Anna Gangstad are looking forward to seeing each other again. The latter hopes it won’t be long. Photo: Øyvind Sandnes / news Wants to return to Norway In recent days, Anna has asked Lilia several times when she will return to Ålesund. – I want her to go back again as soon as possible. But I also think of her family who are there. The most ideal thing would have been for them to have been able to join as well. – The most important thing for me is that she is safe and that we can keep in touch, and that she will return again soon. It’s disgusting not knowing where she is or if she’s okay, even though she tries to keep me updated as much as possible, says Anna Gangstad. Lilia says that she herself does not know when she will return to Norway either. But one thing is certain; she is going back. – I’m afraid that everything will close again so I can’t get my passport in order. But I will get to Norway anyway. Everyone escapes every single day.
