Now the local fire service has to provide temporary water hydrants around the city. There, the inhabitants get hold of what is called “technical water”, for use in washing and in toilets. The others are cloudy, for washing. – This is what we call technical water. We use it to wash ourselves, says Ljudmila. Many children at the Ljudmila playground have become accustomed to the aircraft alarm. In that sense, living in Nikopol is not that difficult. – But for the children, for our grandchildren, it is difficult, she says. Tatjana Zintsjenko says that the playground is full of children in the evening. – But aren’t you afraid of the nuclear power plant and the constant shooting? – No, not really, I believe in the Ukrainian army, says Tatjana.
