The ongoing battle between tech giants Samsung and LG in the OLED television market is heating up, and the latest developments indicate that LG is making significant strides.

For quite some time now, Samsung and LG have been competing fiercely for the title of  market leader  in the television industry, even as Chinese manufacturers attempt to carve out their own niches. The demand for high-quality televisions is on the rise, with both companies striving to  squeeze their rivals  through innovation and marketing tactics.

To celebrate its dominance in the European market for over 12 years, LG has just released  historic figures  highlighting its OLED television sales. Let’s break down these impressive numbers.

For LG, Steady Growth to Current Sales Peak

As the years pass,  LG’s dominance  in the television segment continues to grow. The South Korean brand is not one to rest on its laurels, as evidenced by its notable efforts earlier this year, including the integration of a new immersive app.

Thanks to a series of innovations, LG’s sales figures have skyrocketed from  2 million units sold in 2019  to a projected  9.5 million by 2024 . However, this year marks an even more significant milestone, with the manufacturer recently surpassing  10 million units sold , according to market research firm Omdia. A remarkable achievement indeed, but LG has no intention of stopping here:

“Our OLED TVs have set the standard for high-end televisions by offering an  unprecedented self-emissive visual experience . The Oled Evo 2025 will feature an even sharper display and a smarter, AI-optimized webOS platform to provide an immersive viewing experience for our European customers.” (Heaven Lee, LG Electronics Europe representative)

Not only are LG OLED TVs particularly stylish, but they also offer breathtaking picture quality.

A New Generation of TVs That Are Thriving in Europe

The CES in Las Vegas last January appeared to be a  launchpad  for an unforgettable year for LG. After making a significant impression with its  brightest OLED TV display ever developed , the South Korean brand also introduced its  OLEDC5 lineup , which is already leading sales in Europe this year.

It’s worth noting that  LG sold 391,100 OLED TVs  in just the first quarter of 2025, capturing a massive  56.4% market share . The company is also leading sales in key markets like France, Germany, and the United Kingdom.

A visual journey without ever leaving your living room.

All in all, this illustrates that  Samsung has a tough road ahead  if it hopes to destabilize its historical rival in the OLED TV segment. Moreover, it will also have to contend with  Chinese brands like TCL , which has surprisingly taken the lead over LG in the high-end model sector. As the competition heats up, we eagerly anticipate the innovations these manufacturers have in store for the future.
