20 December 2023 at 10:33 Lars Christian Aamodt becomes interim head of NSM Major General (p) Lars Christian Aamodt becomes interim director of the National Security Authority (NSM) from 2 January 2024, NSM reports on its website. It was made clear in the Cabinet on Wednesday. – I look forward to this period and to contributing to NSM’s ability to deliver on its very important social mission. At the same time, I will ensure that the external committee receives the information they need to make their assessments and recommend measures. I also want to use this period to make sure that the NSM has a good foundation to build on in a time of security political demands, says Aamodt. Aamodt is originally trained as a pilot and has, among other things, been commander of the 338 fighter squadron and commander of the Operations Group at Ørland main air station. He has been Norwegian national force commander in Afghanistan, and earlier this autumn resigned as head of the Norwegian Armed Forces’ logistics organisation. He now comes from KPMG where he worked as a consultant. Former director Sofie Nystrøm resigned with immediate effect on Friday 8 December. The reason was loan agreements that are not in line with the Government’s regulations.
