28 February 2023 at 22:18 Labor mayor supports Fosen activists Linn Kristin Engø (Ap), mayor of Bergen, has contributed money to Nature og Ungdom’s fundraising campaign for Fosen activists in the government quarter in Oslo, Bergensavisen reports. The shareholders are protesting against the development of 151 wind turbines on the Fosenhalvøya in Trøndelag, which the Supreme Court has ruled to be illegal. The campaigners demand that the land be given back to 32 reindeer owners on Fosen. – The activists are making use of their democratic right to show opposition. I support that right. So I both believe and expect that the government will take the initiative for a solution which entails that the Supreme Court judgment is taken into account, says the Ap mayor to the newspaper. Oil and Energy Minister Terje Aasland (Ap) has invited to meetings with the campaigners, but they only want a meeting with the Prime Minister. A total of NOK 800,000 has been collected by the activists in Oslo by Nature and Youth. Engø will not tell the newspaper how much she has contributed, but that the amount is small.
