Kjersti Horn takes over the baton as theater director after Eirik Ulfsby. He has been boss for 14 years and will retire in 2025. NTB reports. The new theater manager was presented at the general meeting on Monday morning. First woman in almost 80 years Kjersti Horn becomes the first woman in the position of theater director since Cally Monrad sat in the director’s chair in the period 1942–1945. There were 17 people on the applicant list, ten women and seven men. The Norske Teatret in Oslo is an important stage institution in the Nordic region. We look forward to her leadership with us, says the chairman. – A fearless director In the press release, Det Norske Teatret portrays Kjersti Horn as a fearless director. – With experimental and risky projects, she has reached a large audience. In the past year, Horn has been involved in, and received a lot of attention for, the marathon play about Kristin Lavransdatter with Sara Khorami in the lead role. For this role, Khorami also received a hedda award in the category of best female lead.
