The king has been diagnosed with an infection that needs to be treated, and will therefore remain in hospital for a few days. The condition is stable, says the Royal Palace. The king was supposed to have taken part in the commemoration of liberation day and national veterans day at Akershus fortress this afternoon together with crown prince Haakon, but had to cancel it. The Crown Prince will participate as planned. King Harald is scheduled to receive Italian President Sergio Mattarella on a state visit to Norway later this week.
