The indictment was completed on Wednesday. The offended party died of haemorrhage, according to the indictment from the public prosecutor in Trøndelag. The defendant has acknowledged what happened in May, but has said that he acted out of necessity. Meeting in town The investigation showed that the accused and the victim met the night before at a restaurant in the center of Stjørdal. The victim, Leif-Arne Nicolaisen, was in Stjørdal at work. He is said to have accompanied the defendant home after closing time at the bar. According to the indictment, the murder must have happened on Sunday 21 May, sometime between 05.45 and 13.00 at the defendant’s home. He had wounds to his face when he was produced for remand. Defense attorney Tore Angen told news that the accused had been advised by him to wait before pleading guilty to murder. Later it became clear that the suspect explained parts of what happened at his home. But he thinks little and thinks it was self-defense. The trial starts in Trøndelag district court in Steinkjer on 8 January next year. Five days have been set aside in court.
