Considered one of the first true rock ‘n’ roll musicians, Lewis released his first hit “Whole Lotta Shakin’ Goin’ On” in 1957. Earlier in October, he was slated to be inducted into the country hall of fame, but had to sit out due to health. Lewis really broke through in the second half of the 1950s. In 1986, he became a member of rock’s hall of honour, and his hit singles include “Great Balls of Fire”, “Breathless”, “High School Confidential”, writes NTB.
