Scanasia AS, Asia Food Import AS and New Japan Trading AS are withdrawing the candies. The products contain two illegal additives that make them firmer, which can cause a possible choking hazard, especially for younger children, the Norwegian Food Safety Authority writes in a press release. The products are sold in independent grocery stores throughout Norway. They are marked with the ingredient thickener E407 and E 410. Customers who have bought the products can throw them away or return them to the store. According to the Norwegian Food Safety Authority, all stores must be notified, and the product must no longer be for sale. The product is also sold in pieces without marking at the Neo Tokyo store.
