Four-time World Cup champions, the Italians remain somewhat shaky and will need to do more to regain a competition that has eluded them since 2014.

After the break, despite facing more opposition chances, Andrea Cambiaso finally doubled the lead (2-0, 50th). However, this did little to assure the Italians, given the attackers’ lack of precision.
