– It was scary, I was very scared – news Vestland

– It hurt a bit. My knee hurt, and it was difficult to walk, says nine-year-old Hussein Zeydan. Zeydan was knocked over when the car hit him on the scooter. He was in pain, but was not seriously injured. The 9-year-old was wearing a helmet. – I had played and was going home. A car was behind me and crashed when I was about to turn. I had to jump away and fall to the ground. He was helped by an adult to get home, before he was driven to the emergency room by his family. The boy was then sent on to the hospital in Nordfjordeid for further checks. – I was at the hospital for a few hours, he says. No one has come forward It was on Thursday evening that the police received a report that a boy had been hit by a car in the parking lot of the secondary school in Måløy. – We were informed that a nine-year-old boy has been hit by a black or dark car, and the driver is a woman, said operations manager Knut Dahl-Michelsen in the police. The police have investigated the case without finding out who was driving, despite urging that the driver make contact. They have also asked for tips and possible witnesses in the case, but by Friday afternoon nothing new had been received in the case. SCRUBBING WOUNDS: Hussein Zeydan was not seriously injured, but his foot hurt and a bit of a scrubbing wound. Photo: Seline Larsen / news Afraid of being hit again Two days after the accident, we meet the boy at home in Måløy. He has a gash on his hand after the fall. Now he is much better and can stand on his scooter again. But he is afraid of being hit by a car again. He spoke to the police after the accident and thinks he will speak to them again. Now he wants the driver of the car to come forward. Mum Aliya Baker says that her son used reflectors when he was out and that he should be home by 18. She says that in Syria she would never let him go outside after 5 p.m. – But in Norway this should be safe. We think of all the children who play up there. Next time it might be someone else’s child. She has an encouragement when something like this happens. – Why not stop and help? The driver should have done that and told me too, says Baker.
