The plane that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has set up to get the around 80 Norwegian citizens safely back to Norway from Gaza took off from Cairo in Egypt on Saturday afternoon. The plane landed at Gardermoen at 20:17 on Saturday evening. The evacuees will be received by border personnel when they get off the plane. Photo: Milana Knežević / news Most of those who were supposed to leave Gaza today are out The Ministry of Foreign Affairs tells news on Saturday evening that most of the 146 Norwegians who were scheduled to leave Gaza today are out or at the border. A total of 270 Norwegian citizens, or people with strong connections to Norway, have asked for assistance to get out of Gaza. – We are happy that many Norwegian citizens have been able to get out of Gaza and are now on their way home to Norway. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs continues to work to ensure that all Norwegian citizens who wish to get out of Gaza as soon as possible, says Foreign Minister Espen Barth Eide (Ap) on Friday.
