On Tuesday evening, Iran fired 180 missiles into Israel, according to the Israeli military (IDF). Iran says the attack came in response to the killings of Ismail Haniyeh, Hassan Nasrallah and Abbas Nilforoushan. They were all important leaders in Hamas, Hezbollah and the Revolutionary Guard respectively. Israel was quick to promise consequences for Iran. Spokesmen for the IDF also said that the country would continue airstrikes throughout the night. A little after half past twelve, the IDF in a statement asks residents of southern Beirut, the capital of Lebanon, to evacuate, writes Reuters. Israel plans to hit Hezbollah targets in the area on Wednesday morning, the statement said. According to Lebanese health authorities, 55 people have been killed in Israeli attacks on Tuesday. The turmoil, attacks and tension between Israel and Hezbollah, which is based in Lebanon, have increased since the attack against Israel on 7 October.
