Recent atmospheric conditions are creating notable climatic disparities across Mexico. The southeastern regions are currently under the influence of substantial rainfall, while a persistent heat wave grips the northern and western parts of the country.
Current Weather Patterns
Forecasters indicate that low-pressure channels over the country are combining with a high-altitude trough in the Gulf of Mexico. This convergence, along with moisture influx from the Pacific Ocean and the Gulf, is expected to result in heavy downpours, specifically in the states of Tabasco and Chiapas.
In addition to heavy rains, there are expectations for electrical storms and intermittent showers across various western, central, southern, and southeastern states, including the Yucatán Peninsula. These conditions may lead to flooding, impaired visibility, and impacts in urban environments.

Heat Wave in the North and West
Conversely, an anticyclonic circulation at mid-altitude levels is promoting a dry, stable atmosphere across the northern and northwestern regions of Mexico. This shift has initiated a new heat wave, elevating temperatures significantly.

- Maximum temperatures of 40 to 45 °C: Baja California (northeast), Sonora, Chihuahua (west), Sinaloa (north), and Guerrero (northwest).
- Maximum temperatures of 35 to 40 °C: Baja California Sur, Durango (northwest), Zacatecas (south), Nayarit, Jalisco, Colima, Michoacán, Morelos, Puebla (southwest), Oaxaca, and Chiapas.
- Maximum temperatures of 30 to 35 °C: Coahuila, Nuevo León, Tamaulipas, San Luis Potosí, State of Mexico (southwest), Campeche, Yucatán, and Quintana Roo.
Meteorological Outlook
In the morning, residents can expect clear skies with fog and cool temperatures, particularly in high areas of the State of Mexico. By the afternoon, temperatures will rise, creating a warm atmosphere and partly cloudy skies. There is a possibility of isolated rain in parts of the State of Mexico, while Mexico City is projected to remain largely dry.
The forecast for Mexico City indicates minimum temperatures ranging from 6 to 8 °C and maximums of 24 to 26 °C. In Toluca, temperatures may dip to 2 to 4 °C in the morning, with maximums of 22 to 24 °C in the afternoon.
