The girls on the many films the man has taken care of are between the ages of 14 and 17. The police confirmed this to news on Wednesday. Interrogated on Wednesday The camera was almost impossible to detect and is smaller than a coin. The small unit was attached to a fold-down changing table inside the toilet itself. After guests accidentally discovered the camera, the police were immediately notified. Shortly afterwards, on 27 September this year, a man employed by the municipality was arrested. Since then he has been in custody. WELL HIDDEN: The camera is smaller than a coin and was very difficult to detect. Photo: The police The man was questioned by the police again on Wednesday. – He admits that he has taken care of films of young girls. It agrees with what he has said before and what we have found so far, says Sigrid Dahl, head of the police department in the South-East police district. The investigation shows that the films have been set up, and that he wanted to film young girls who used the toilet. – The films are categorized and saved by the names of the girls. It is about just under twenty girls, says Dahl. Sigrid Dahl, head of the police department in the South-East police district, says the police will now contact the people who have been identified. Photo: Stig Bolme / news The persons who are identified will be contacted and called in for questioning by the police on an ongoing basis, she says. The police do not want to comment on whether it is only girls living in the local community who are named on the man’s list. There is currently no suspicion that the man has filmed illegally in other public places. Extra preparedness Municipal director in Kviteseid, Laila Thorsen, says that the municipality has always taken this case very seriously, and had people in place to look after those affected. They will now further expand their capacity to be able to assist the girls and their families as best as possible. – The fact that the police go out with a specific group makes the case more concrete. It gives a figure on how many people may be affected, she says. – If anyone wonders whether they have been filmed, they should contact the police, but they can call us about everything else, emphasizes Thorsen. The charge is unchanged In the first imprisonment order from the Telemark District Court, the man was charged under section 311 of the Criminal Code, which among other things deals with “production of sexual abuse against children or production that sexualises children”. – This has not changed, says Dahl. He is initially in custody with a letter and visiting ban until 24 November, but the police will ask that this be continued. The police have still not gone through all the material that was seized from the man’s home. – This is extensive and takes time. It will be appropriate to question him again when we have gone through all the material, says Dahl to news.
