– I got a lot of crap – news Sport – Sports news, results and broadcasting schedule

25 October 2023 at 10:23 Kjønø finished in Jerv after 84 days: – Sad and disappointing – That was it. What was supposed to be at least three years became almost three months. Good luck, FK Jerv. Eirik Kjønø wrote that on X/Twitter on Wednesday, 84 days after he was brought to the Grimstad club. The club also confirmed the news themselves soon after. “Eirik has done his utmost during the period he has been head coach at the club, unfortunately it has not led to the sporting results we hoped for. The change we are now making is to create energy for the last matches”. They state that Petter Sjåholm will take over the responsibility until a new head coach is in place. Jerv, who were relegated from the Eliteserien last year, are in 14th place in the 1st division. In that case, it will mean that Jerv will have to qualify against the winner of the qualification from the 2nd division. They are only one point down to Hødd on direct relegation, while there are three points up to Åsane in a safe place. – I think it is sad and disappointing that it turned out like this. Even though there have been bad results, I feel that everything is in our hands and I had faith that a win against Skeid in the next match would help turn the trend around, says Kjønø to news. – I have not received any signals from the management before they called and said that they wanted to reach a final agreement. It came as a bit of a surprise, but of course, when you don’t get results and are in a pressured situation, you know it can happen. Kjønø took over Jerv at the beginning of August and during his time the club took six points in twelve games. Kjønø thinks Jerv will keep the place. – They are in a qualifying position now and have Skeid and Åsane in two games where it is quite possible to take a number of points. I feel pretty confident that they will hold their place. I really hope they do. – For my own part, this does not look good on my CV. I don’t know what happens next, says the coach, who will now prioritize his family in the coming weeks.
