The plan is instead that Finland, Norway, Kazakhstan, the USA, Germany, Estonia and Hungary will make up the participants. Still, organizing a World Cup without Russia is not without problems. The country has long had a lot to say in international bandy, among other things in the form of several board representatives in the International Bandy Federation (FIB). Pär Gustafsson, secretary general of the Swedish Bandy Federation, nevertheless says that a 2023 WC in Sweden will have official status anyway. – It will be a WC just like any other, fully sanctioned internationally.
