At the end of January, individuals receiving a disability pension will notice an increase in their monthly income. This change is part of the increments established for 2026, although the amount varies depending on the type of pension.

How Much Will Disability Pensions Increase in 2026?

According to the Royal Decree-Law 16/2025, dated December 23, contributory pensions will experience a rise of 2.7%. In contrast, non-contributory pensions and the Minimum Vital Income will increase by 11.4%.

Disability pensions are classified as contributory since they are awarded when an illness or accident prevents the continuation of work while contributing to the social security system. Thus, these pensions will see a 2.7% increase in 2026.
