1 August 2024 at 14:25 Olympic shock: Swiatek knocked out in the semi-finals The Polish world number one Iga Swiatek had a very tough time against Chinese Zheng Qinwen and was eliminated from the women’s tennis tournament in the Paris Olympics. Zheng won with the set numbers 6-2, 7-5 and could cheer for advancement on the red clay in the French capital. Swiatek has for several years been a clear one, while Qinwen is ranked as the seventh best women’s player. Swiatek has a very strong record at the Roland-Garros arena in Paris, where she has not lost a match since 2021. Earlier this year, she won the Grand Slam tournament for the third time in a row, and she had won 25 straight matches on the red clay before the meeting with Zheng on Thursday.
