A man has been arrested, the police confirmed to news on Friday evening. – We have come into contact with a person there, who there was grounds for taking to the police station, says Bjørnar Gaasvik, operations manager in the police. To Adresseavisen, the police say on Saturday night that the man has been charged with serious damage. Operations leader Ketil Stene tells the newspaper that the person arrested has linked himself to the act itself. – We are working on the basis that the fire was set, he says. According to Nea Radio, the police visited the residence in question earlier on Friday evening. – We were here earlier this evening to talk to someone who lives in the house, says task leader Håkon Jørgensen to the radio station. It was Friday evening that the emergency services responded to a fire in a home in Sjetnmarka in Trondheim. – They have control over the spread and control over the situation, said fire service alarm operator Marius Sandnes. He says that the fire is still far from extinguished. The fire service has worked to contain the fire. People nearby are asked to close windows and doors and stay indoors. Sandnes states that the fire was in a detached house, but that it has also spread to two other homes. – We have no suspicion that there is anyone in the home, says operations manager in the police, Anne Birgitte Arras. The fire service has also received information about some gas bottles in the home’s basement, as well as some petrol cans in a carport.
