16 January 2023 at 08:06 Historically high trading surplus High gas prices produced a historically high trading surplus of NOK 1,574 billion last year, writes Statistics Norway in a press release. The statistics show that goods worth NOK 2,601 billion were exported in 2022, while imports ended at NOK 1,027 billion. This resulted in a trade surplus of NOK 1,574 billion – approximately three times as high as in 2021. – To put exports in context, it accounted for 20 per cent of the Government’s pension fund abroad, which today is valued at more than NOK 13,000 billion, says section chief for foreign trade statistics Therese Vestre in Statistics Norway.
