Hilde saves 168 travel hours in the year after the new line opened – news Vestland

On Monday morning, Hilde Johanne Hagen sat down on Bybanen’s line 2 for the very first time. The trip started from Fyllingsdalen, which is on the other side of the mountain Løvstakken. She works as a nurse at the children’s clinic at Haukeland University Hospital. – Some of us live in the “valley”, and we have been really looking forward to this day, she says. For several years, she has taken the bus to the hospital. From now on, she gets several minutes on the pillow before work. Shorter journey time The light rail journey from Fyllingsdalen to work only takes eight minutes. This Monday will be the first test of how much longer she can sleep in the morning. A typical work trip could previously involve up to three bus changes – depending on what happened or what she managed. Now she only needs one bus ride and one light rail ride. Hagen used to have a journey time of about 45 minutes. On the way home it could take even longer. The light rail in Fyllingsdalen. This means that passengers to and from the hospital do not have to travel through the center of Bergen. Haukeland station is expected to be the busiest light rail stop in Bergen, with between 7,000 and 8,000 passengers daily. – People must consider housing in Fyllingsdalen At weekends, Hagen has taken the car to work, because it has been problematic to catch the morning shifts by bus. The bus routes have also frequently changed. – I have been annoyed many times by the buses that are constantly changing, she says. With the new light rail line, she has a much more predictable travel routine. The garden may also have become richer today. It is predicted that house prices will rise as a result of the opening of the new line. The development of the Bybanen i Bergen The construction of the Bybanen in Bergen was approved in the year 2000. The development of line 1 to Flesland started in January 2008. The section Bergen center-Nesttun opened on 22 June 2010. The section Nesttun-Lagunen opened on 21 June 2013. The section Lagunen- Birkelandsskiftet opened on 15 August 2016. The section BIrkelandsskiftet-Flesland opened on 22 April 2017. The development of line 2 to Fyllingsdalen started in 2018. The section opens on 21 November 2022. – I have told people that they must consider moving to Fyllingsdalen when the line coming, she says. And without an news team in tow, she believes that the travel time could be even shorter. That gives her about 168 more hours a year at her disposal. – I aim to get down in 20 minutes. That gives me about 15 more minutes on the pad. It’s wonderful, she says. Join the drive from Bergen city center to Fyllingsdalen! Photo: Gerd Johanne Braadland
