SATURDAY’S RESULTS
SECOND ROUND
DIVISION 1
In the Division 1 second round of the Southern Section Softball Playoffs, the results were nothing short of exciting. The game between Norco and Oaks Christian showcased Norco’s dominance with a decisive victory of 13-1. Chino Hills followed suit, securing a 4-0 victory over Huntington Beach. Not to be outdone, La Mirada trounced Roosevelt with a score of 12-4. In a nail-biting match, Ayala edged out Murrieta Mesa with a close score of 3-2.
Another thrilling game saw Sherman Oaks Notre Dame and El Segundo battle it out in a high-scoring affair, where Notre Dame triumphed with a 12-10 victory. El Modena managed to outlast Rosary Academy, winning 7-5. In a commanding performance, Temescal Canyon shut out Valley View with a score of 8-0. Etiwanda closed the round by defeating La Habra 3-1.
DIVISION 2
The Division 2 matchups delivered thrilling performances as well. California recorded a solid win against Capistrano Valley, securing a 3-0 victory. Great Oak continued its strong campaign with a dominant 7-1 win over Downey. JSerra proved its resilience, coming out on top against Sonora with a score of 5-3. Another standout performance came from Palos Verdes, defeating Linfield Christian 11-7.
Ganesha also had success, shutting out Millikan with a score of 4-0. Santa Margarita displayed its prowess with a convincing 13-3 victory against Vista Murrieta. Los Alamitos faced Whittier Christian and secured a 7-3 win, while La Serna defeated Redondo Union with a score of 4-2.
DIVISION 3
Moving down to Division 3, the competition remained fierce. St. Paul bested Alta Loma with a score of 6-2, while Marina overwhelmed San Clemente, achieving a shutout victory of 7-0. Arlington clinched a win against Cerritos Valley Christian, finishing it 4-1. The game between Yorba Linda and Valencia is still pending, set to be played on Monday, alongside the matchup between Kennedy and Royal.
Another important clash took place as Aquinas defeated Tesoro 5-2, while Mission Viejo left no room for doubt, thumping Ramona with a score of 14-3. Westlake outperformed Chaminade, finishing at 7-2.
DIVISION 4
In Division 4, Santa Monica took on Duarte, emerging victorious with a score of 7-3. More excitement came from Long Beach Poly, which dominated South El Monte in a lopsided 11-1 win. Harvard-Westlake also secured a narrow victory against Foothill, finishing 5-3.
Dos Pueblos displayed excellent offensive maneuvers, defeating Colton with an emphatic 10-2 performance. Indio managed a solid win against Northview, finishing with a score of 4-2, while El Toro flexed its muscles against Quartz Hill, winning 14-7. The match between Elsinore and Warren is another match to look forward to on Monday.
DIVISION 5
The excitement continued in Division 5, where St. Bonaventure barely squeezed past Muir with a score of 4-3. Patriot enjoyed a favorable matchup against Kaiser, triumphing 10-2. The next round will see Irvine facing Highland on Monday.
Riverside North defeated Western Christian in a closely contested game, finishing at 9-8. Cerritos showcased its strength, overpowering Placentia Valencia 11-1. Canyon Springs put forth a solid performance, winning 5-1 against Grace, while West Ranch had a successful outing against Bishop Montgomery, finishing with a score of 12-5.
DIVISION 6
Division 6 games saw Cantwell-Sacred Heart edging out South Pasadena with a close 2-1 finish. University dominated Coastal Christian, securing a 10-2 victory. Ramona Convent also shined, defeating Granite Hills 13-7. The game between Pasadena Poly and La Salle is expected on Monday, as well as the match between Adelanto and San Jacinto.
Katella earned a strong win against Vasquez, finishing 7-4, while Rio Hondo Prep showcased offensive power by trouncing St. Monica 16-6.
DIVISION 7
As for Division 7, El Monte edged out Garey with a close score of 9-7, while Westminster found success against Fillmore, winning 14-8. The standout performance came from Rancho Mirage, which annihilated Hesperia Christian with a jaw-dropping 23-10 score. Edgewood secured its victory with a steady performance against Sacred Heart LA, winning 10-3.
Silverado continued its charge, dominating Rialto 16-4. The match between Los Amigos and Culver City will conclude on Monday, as will the game between Lakeside and Riverside Notre Dame.
DIVISION 8
In Division 8, Orange narrowly defeated Tustin with a score of 3-2, while Cathedral City put up a strong offensive display against Bethel Christian, winning 15-6. United Christian Academy endured a thrilling contest with Banning, winning 12-11. The game between Nuview Bridge and Lennox Academy is anticipated on Monday.
Hawthorne triumphed against Rancho Alamitos, achieving a splendid 17-8 victory, while Calvary Baptist crushed Academy of Careers & Exploration with a score of 14-0. Hueneme also flexed its muscles, finishing strong against Loara with a score of 13-0. The final match in this division featured Downey Calvary Chapel, edging out St. Genevieve with a score of 10-8.
WEDNESDAY’S SCHEDULE
Looking ahead to Wednesday, the quarterfinals are set to heat up with challenging matchups. Games will commence at 3:15 p.m. unless indicated otherwise.
In Division 1, Chino Hills will compete against Norco, Ayala will face La Mirada, while El Modena takes on Sherman Oaks Notre Dame. Lastly, Etiwanda will meet Temescal Canyon.
Division 2 features California vying against Great Oak, while JSerra goes head-to-head with Palos Verdes. Ganesha will challenge Santa Margarita, and La Serna faces off against Los Alamitos.
In the Division 3 quarterfinals, Arlington will face the winner of the Yorba Linda-Valencia matchup, while Marina competes against St. Paul. Aquinas will meet either Kennedy or Royal, and Mission Viejo goes against Westlake.
Division 4 includes Long Beach Poly vs. Santa Monica, Harvard-Westlake battling Dos Pueblos, and El Toro matching up against Indio. To wrap it up, Elsinore or Warren will take on Hemet.

In Division 6, University will go against Cantwell-Sacred Heart, and Ramona Convent battles Pasadena Poly or La Salle. Adelanto heads to San Jacinto, and Katella meets Rio Hondo Prep.
In Division 7, Westminster will match against El Monte, while Edgewood takes on Rancho Mirage. Silverado will face either Los Amigos or Culver City, and Riverside Notre Dame goes to Lakeside.
Lastly, Division 8 has Cathedral City up against Orange, while Nuview Bridge or Lennox Academy will challenge United Christian Academy. Hawthorne will meet Calvary Baptist, and Hueneme battles Downey Calvary Chapel.
